Insufficient Heating or Cooling

Air Conditioning

  • Check the air filters, as dirty filters will restrict airflow.
    Air filters are normally inside the furnace blower compartment.
    Air filters may be in the main return duct next to your furnace.
    Some systems may have an electronic or media air filter that only needs cleaning every six months.
  • Check for blocked supply or return registers. Furniture or other items in front of or over registers can restrict airflow.

    • Hot Water Boilers:

  • Systems with radiators may become air bound, not allowing heat to rise.
    Bleed the radiators using a radiator key. (Ask a Modern Comfort Systems technician to show you how during your next system tune-up visit.
    Newer baseboard and radiant systems can also become air bound. These systems require a professional to purge the air from the system. Call Modern Comfort Systems.
  • Steam Boilers
